Bloom into Vitality

See the flowers blooming, do you hear the birds' chirping?
Spring and Summer are seasons that bring warmth and joy.

Spring is a season characterised by rejuvenation and growth, representative of a rising 'Yang' energy. The ‘Yang’ energy increases during Spring to bring warmth to nature for blooming flowers and vibrant greenery. According to TCM, the season is associated to the liver. Detoxifying and nurturing of the liver is thus emphasised in Spring.

The ‘Yang’ energy peaks in Summer. Associated with the Fire element, it is a time of joy, passion and connection. Associated with the heart, it is recommended to maintain good heart health to prevent falling ill during Summer.

About the Season

The Spring/ Summer Season

Focus Organs of the Season

In Spring, the main organ is the liver, and in Summer, the heart.

But... why is THIS organ specific for THAT season? How is it determined?
In the different seasons, there are different elements, emotions, nature ('yin' vs 'yang') as well as an associated organ. The organ is identified to be the weakest during the season and most vulnerable to the changing elements of nature. As such, caring for the associated organ is incredibly important to stay strong and healthy.

About Chamomile

Chamomile is a popular herb used to help with the detoxification of the body. The sesquiterpene lactone content in Chamomile is particularly efficient at detoxifying the liver, strengthening it through stimulating the expulsion of bile from the gallbladder.

About American Ginseng

American ginseng is believed to possess adaptogenic properties that help balance the body's vital energy, known as Qi. By promoting Qi balance, it helps alleviate symptoms associated with heart imbalances such as palpitations, irregular heartbeat, and anxiety. A part of balancing Qi is the nourishment of 'Yin' (the nourishing and cooling aspects of the body). American ginseng is believed to have Yin-nourishing properties, which can help nourish the heart and support its proper functioning.

American ginseng also has a calming effect on the body, helping to reduce stress, anxiety, and promoting a sense of calmness. By reducing emotional stress, it indirectly supports heart health, as chronic stress is linked to increased risk factors for heart disease.
